| Salut! My name is Frank, I am German and I am reenacting (beside German, British and US)...French. Unfortunatley my French is still terrible, so I will write in English, buit I am learning. Currently I am putting together my French 1940 impression. But I am still missing pantalon, vareuse and capote. Maybe anyone has a source for good reproductions? I have met some Frenchmen in Leves in Belgium on the first July-weekend, but I have lost the e-mail-adress. I hope to get some help here, I have a lot of books about the French Army 1940,b but there are a lot of questions left. Bye Frank |

| Hallo Frank, There is not a lot of reproductions in French 1940. And for the pantalon, you need a mdl47... You don't need capote and vareuse both: which regiment do you want to reenact ? Don't worry, you can ask all questions you want |

| Because of my age (37 ans) I will portray a "type B" reservist, Regimental No. above 200.
I have a complete Mle16 leather equipment and a 1914 pattern tournister with wooden frame.
I hope to find some comrades here in Germany, there are some with interest in French Army.
As infantry I don´t need a vareuse, you are right. I already have the mle35 shirt and pullover, Boots, puttees and M26 helmet.
Bye Frank |

| Okay nice !
Find a capote mdl22 is difficult: you can buy a capote mdl47 and make it modify.
What are your boots ? Rangers ? Brodequins mdl17 ? Mdl41 ? |

Hallo Frank,
Ich bin zur Hälfte Deutscher und bin auch ein Darsteller in französischer Uniform. Ich lebe und arbeite zur Zeit in Ostwestfalen. I will continue in Englisch so that everyone can understand. If you want, I can modify a mdl 47 capote into a mdl 20/35 capote or a vareuse mdl 35. Fort the pants, you can buy straight pants from the model 47 and wrap the puttees on top of the pants. It makes a perfect look of a "pantalon golf modèle 38". If there are other things you might need, I can try to help. As I said, I live and work in Germany for the moment. I didn't know there were some germans interested in french uniforms but I would really like to get to know them.
Kind greatings
Adrian

| Merci! I am on the right, I am teachung a comrade to attach the TAP 663 properly. But we didn´t jump, of course. Indochina is a very interesting theme, and we are 10 people who are engaded with it for reenactment here in Germany. |
