| Hello Everyone,
Please forgive me for writing in English. I just found this forum this morning, while searching for information regarding the French Army in 1940. I am currently assembling my uniform and gear for a French infantry soldier circa 1940. Sadly, many people in my country have no idea about the French soldier during 1940.
I am hoping that I can make presentations with my kit to represent the French soldier, and I hope to do so with honor.
:D |

| Hi Grabenkater ! Welcome in this forum ! I am the "Big Boss" here (with L'as de Coeur and Ben22), so if you've questions, don't be embarassed ! I find that's good that people from other countries (and USA !) know something about our nice Army in 1940 !
And sorry for my bad English ! ^^ |

| Merci Beaucoup! Loïc, Your English is much better than my French I have always wanted to complete a French impression, especially 1940. There is very little information in English regarding the French soldier, so I have a hard time with researching. I have the two Osprey books and a Xerox copy of the Militaria issue on French 1940 uniforms and equipment. I should be receiving my uniform and some equipment sometime this week. I will try to take some photos over the weekend (weather permitting). I already have a 1886/93 Lebel, but I think this would be incorrect for 1940. I will be asking plenty of questions over the next few weeks......I hope this is ok. |

| Merci Loïc!
I believe I will use my Lebel until I can procure a MAS 36, or a Berthier 07/15. |

| Hi Grabenkater and welcome on bord We're really glad to have you with us ; I must confess I'm very curious about your uniform, I'll enjoy having a look at your pictures as soon as you'll have posted these :D As Tom said, our friend Yann (137e) is American too. It might be a good idea if we could translate into English the most interesting part of the last posts... I'll talk about that with Loïc. Best regards Paul _________________ |
